Reconciliatory Committee Starts Work in Gaza And West Bank Today

Fateh senior leader in Gaza Strip Ibraham Abu Al Najja, confirmed that the bilateral reconciliatory committee between Fateh and Hamas movements will start work at 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon simultaneously in both Gaza Strip and the West Bank by Egyptian sponsorship.

Abu Al Najja said that the committee will discuss several outstanding issues between either sides, pointing out that this session is a first exploratory meeting, after which an agenda will be set on how to begin to resolve the more complex issues between both parties in preparation for convening the general reconciliatory committee.

He added that the committee will start by easing the tensions which aroused lately in Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and discussing issues like political detentions, pursuits, closing associations …etc

Fateh leader stressed that the committee will work on removing all obstacles which hinder reconciliation before the announcement of the final agreement on the seventh of July.

Fateh committee will be represented by Ibrahim Abu Al Najja, Abdullah Abu Samhadana, and Deputy Ashraf Jom'ah from Gaza, and Azzam Al Ahmed and Mahmoud Al Aloul from the West Bank.

Hamas will be represented by Jamal Abu Hashem, Ismail Al Ashqar, and Ayman Taha from Gaza, in addition to Omar Abdel Razek, Mohammed Zeedan, and a woman whose name has not been revealed yet from the West Bank.

Abu Al Najja confirmed that Egypt will be represented by its Consul to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank city of Ramallah Haitham Sharbatly.

"The work of this committee is not substituting to the factions meetings, yet it shall pave the way for signing a final agreement between all the Palestinian factions", Abu Al Najja said.
